Thank you for your interest in my pelvic models. I have been drawing anatomy pictures since my early days as a physiotherapy student. When I decided to specialize in pelvic health, 17 years ago, I was overwhelmed with pelvic floor anatomy. It was not easy to visualize and it took me years to really get comfortable learning the "ins and out's" of the pelvic area. So I drew them over and over until I had a model that I was happy with.
When I started teaching with Pelvic Health Solutions 4 years ago I thought that this model would be great to use as a teaching tool. With the encouragement of my teaching colleagues, Nelly Faghani and Carolyn Vandyken as well as our students, I got a lot of great feedback and was encouraged to sell them.
Word got out about my models and now I'm getting requests here in Canada and as far as away as the UK! All of this was very exciting so this website came out of necessity to allow me to share these models with all of you!
It is both a valuable tool for professionals and a great visual aid for your pelvic health patients. For those of you practicing pelvic health, you know how disconnected our patients can be with the pelvic floor. They can't see these muscles, or touch them and often don't even know of their existence! Educating our patients about the pelvic floor muscles is a key part of what we do and it helps to have tools to do so.
I'm hoping to add more visual aids over time. I am working on a male pelvic model so keep checking in to see what I add!
Yours in pelvic health,
